Why is nappy hair considered ugly. Is this something that have been taught for thousands of years. I actually find it beautiful. Its thick, its full and you can do alot with it. I love curly and wavy hair too. I notice this though that nappy hair is so undesirable. __________________ Victory has won!!!!! |

i dont know why but for some reason i hate the fact that you used teh word 'nappy' nappy means frizzy and fuzzy. i decided to natural (6 months now wow!) and im still is secondary school so i was always getting teased for it, and i really hate that i was just tired of having to change myself just to conform to the westernzed views of what is beautiful people are always beging me to relax my hair, and the other day i was out with my friend an some woman (black) who i didint even know was telling me about how she has a salon in london and hwo they can do my hair for a small fee so basically in other words she though my hair looked crap and wanted me to get it done(by the way my hair was blow out, its about 4 inches long) but the thing that get me the most if that its not just white people who are making fond of you because of your hair(but you cant blame them if all they see is black women with relaxer in their hair, and then suddenly see and afro the are bound to find it unnatural and weird looking) its the black people when im at church : oh your hair has grow so much, so when are you going to relax it
at school: oh wow it looks like you have a cloud on your head... oh my bad that was youre hair (my bestfriend said it ,s he was just joking but still)
at home(my mum amd brother): omg what are we going to do with your hair you can go out looking like this (cause my hair is still shortish i can do much with it but comb it ut and put on a gairband over it) dont you just want to relax it?
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! im sorry for the long post but you dont see people asking white people why there hair is so straight or why there noses are so small or why their lips are so tiny, or why they age so quickly(sorry i had to add that in there!) the fact of the matter is the 'nappy hair' thing is just the tip of the iceberg the situation goes so much deeper. __________________ chicken head! |

| hey cc screw those that tease you about your hair. Wait till it grows out. Their hands are going to be all in your hair. I think natural kinky hair that's healthy and thick is way more beautiful than straight relaxed hair that's over processed and thin. |

Kinky curly hair is so attractive to me. I notice alot of women wanting the straight look but I find kinks and curls to be beautiful. Especially when its all filled out and full. __________________ R.I.P Michael Jackson Forever. |

Keep it natural cc! ur def doing the right thing you're hair is going to grow so looong! Try and avoid anything with mineral oil, petrolatum as these coat the hair shaft without penetrating it, try and give your hair as much moisture as possible, i make a lil concoction of coconut oil, K2H conditioner, jennifer myers oil and water and it keeps my hair hydrated. Look into http://www.nauturallycurly.com, they have hair products for straight type 1 hair to kinky-coily type 4 curly 3's and wavy 2's. its great you can get products for your own specific hairtype. Afro hair is beautiful and no two heads of hair are the same. Also check out http://www.roundhairbrush.com- they do some great dominican products for blowouts. And http://www.jennifermyers.co.uk- i use this oil and its great, pricy but it works like a dream I remember when i cut my relaxer off to start again i had a mini afro before my hair developed into curls, my roots are tight to begin with then the curl forms, i think i have 3c/3b/4a type hair Oh forgot to add persia white uses this oil too. Jennifer Myers is black british, has 4b afro hair, it's just blown out so she's living proof afro hair can be beautiful i've actually met her, she's a lot darker in person, just the lights are bright from the cameras. Its so funny wherever she goes people are always beggin to touch her hair its so beautiful even i had to resist the urge. __________________ *Love Tahiry's even complexion, this is my aim

Kinky sounds better than nappy but hey it is what it is lol because with no moisterization/oils kinky/curly hair can be nappy. I know this because my hair is like this when dry. __________________ Smooth silky light skin is in. |

Everyones hair can get nappy if its not combed. I would refer nappy as kinky for 4a/b textures. __________________ Always remember that the person you hate; Jesus love. Try to love them too. |

Brownsuga you are so right about the mineral oil. It clogs the pores and I hate the fact that most products contain it __________________ Victory has won!!!!! |
